ABOUT THIS WINE
Tuma is the flagship red blend from Bodega Los Cedros, situated in the Sierra de Arteaga at elevations over 2,000 meters—among the highest vineyards in North America. The 2019 vintage combines Bordeaux and Rhône varieties, often including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot, depending on the vintage composition. The vineyard’s limestone and clay soils, along with dramatic diurnal shifts, allow for slow, even ripening, preserving acidity and aromatics. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in small lots with native yeasts before aging in French oak barrels for approximately 18 months. The resulting wine is powerful yet refined, with notes of blackberry, tobacco leaf, dried lavender, and crushed stone. An excellent match for grilled meats, mole negro, or aged cheeses.
