Unlike Sassicaia and some of the other "Super-Tuscans" (blends of Sangiovese with Bordeaux varietals like Cabernet and Merlot), Elena's wines have an unparalelled lightness to them. These are fresh, powerful for sure, but not overpowering. A rack of lamb with her "Yantra" sourced all from her organically grown estate fruit would be delightful.

Elena Pozzolini was an esteemed viticulturalist specializing in vine diseases when she was tapped by the Ratti family in Bolgheri to run their winery, whose name translates to the house of the seven skies. Sitting on top of a hill at 1300 meters of elevation, the winery has panoramic views including a breathtaking span of the Mediterranean coast on the west, and of its neighbors Tenuta San Guido, who make the wine "Sassicaia" on a hill just a bit further south.
