2021 Nuraghe Crabioni Cannonau di Sardegna, Sardinia, Italy
ABOUT THIS WINE
Sandalwood and rose hip notes are an aromatic entry to this creamy, light to medium-bodied red, where light, supple tannins frame flavors of baked black raspberry and dried fig, with an herb-laced finish. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel. It sees 8 months of aging in tank and then another 4 in bottle before it is released. It pairs well with fatty fish like tuna and swordfish or with red fish sauces. Ideal for lamb or grilled pork as well.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
This 85-acre property is located in Sorso, Sardegna. Nuraghe Crabioni takes its name from a nuraghe on the estate, located in an area referred to as “Lu Crabioni”. A nuraghe is a conal tower that was widely constructed throughout ancient Sardegna and is considered a unique symbol of the island. Nuraghe Crabioni considers its nuraghe an inspirational landmark that goes hand-in-hand with the winery’s mission to produce high quality wines that express their distinctly Sardinian character. Overlooking the Asinara Gulf, the vineyard benefits from its unique location, enjoying both warm southern winds and cooling maritime breezes.
