2021 Domaine Odoul-Coquard Chambolle-Musigny, Burgundy, France

ABOUT THIS WINE

Crafted from four distinct parcels within the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, this wine benefits from vines aged between 30 to 50 years, situated at elevations of 250 to 300 meters with east-facing exposures. The limestone-rich soils impart a notable elegance and finesse to the wine. Aged for approximately 15 months in 30% new French oak barrels, the wine exhibits a vibrant bouquet of red berries, complemented by hints of violet and a touch of spice. On the palate, it is light-bodied with a smooth texture, balanced acidity, and a lingering finish. While approachable now, it possesses the structure to age gracefully over the next 3-4 years. Ideal pairings include beef, roasted meats, or mushroom-based dishes.

Now under the stewardship of Sébastien Odoul, the domaine combines traditional winemaking with a modern sensitivity to precision and terroir transparency. With holdings in several top sites across Chambolle, Gevrey, and Morey, their farming is conscientious, following lutte raisonnée principles to minimize chemical inputs and preserve biodiversity.
