2021 Leeu Passant Cabernet Sauvignon, Stellenbosch, South Africa
ABOUT THIS WINE
Sourced from select vineyard parcels in Stellenbosch, including the Helderberg and Polkadraai Hills, this Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the region’s renowned terroir. The vines, rooted in granite and sandstone soils, benefit from cool ocean breezes that preserve the wine's freshness. After careful hand-harvesting, the grapes underwent natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Maturation took place in 500-liter French oak barrels, with a portion in large oak foudres, allowing the wine to develop complexity while retaining its vibrant fruit character.
