Sourced from a blend of upper Yarra Valley vineyards, the 2021 Pinot Noir reflects Mac Forbes’ low-intervention philosophy and site-specific focus. The region’s elevated, cooler sites—with volcanic and clay-rich soils—produce fruit with natural acidity and perfume. Fermentation was spontaneous with a high proportion of whole bunches, followed by aging in older French oak to maintain vibrancy and structure.
This vintage is delicate but not slight—showing restraint, energy, and purity of fruit. It’s a Pinot built for food, pairing beautifully with duck, chargrilled mushrooms, or dishes featuring umami-rich ingredients like miso or soy.

After working in Europe, Mac returned to his home region and founded the winery in 2004 with the goal of producing wines that speak more softly but more clearly.
