2022 Château Bonnelière Chinon Rosé "Rive Gauche", Loire Valley, France

ABOUT THIS WINE

This wine comes from the alluvial soils on the left bank of the Vienne river composed of sand and gravel. The freshness of the Cabernet Franc planted in these soils creates a fresh aromatic rosé. This rosé is produced using two methods: the direct pressing of grapes from one part of the plot and a 12-hour maceration of the grapes from the rest of the plot, in order to obtain smoothness and aromatic power. The fermentation takes place at low temperature. The short ageing is carried out in vat.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Thanks to the will of 2 generations, the Château de la Bonnelière has regained its nobility and its original vocation, the vine and the wine. In 1976, Pierre Plouzeau bought this family property, renovated the Château and replanted the disappeared vineyard. In 1989, a modern winery was born as well as a “Chinon Château de la Bonnelière” wine. His son, Marc, takes over this vineyard in 1999, continues to develop it, passes it entirely in organic and perfects the cellar. Today, it is a must-see vineyard in Chinon.
