2022 Pecchenino Langhe Nebbiolo "Botti", Piedmont, Italy

ABOUT THIS WINE

The "Botti" Langhe Nebbiolo is crafted from 100% Nebbiolo grapes sourced from the Bricco Botti estate in Dogliani, within the Langhe DOC. The 25-year-old, Guyot-trained vines are planted on south and southwest-facing slopes with calcareous-clayey soils. Harvested in the first week of October, the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation lasting about 3-4 weeks. The wine is then aged in 25-hectoliter large oak casks, known as "botti" in Italian, which impart subtle oak influences while preserving the varietal's natural characteristics.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

The Pecchenino winery has been a family-run enterprise since the end of the 19th century, beginning with just over 8 hectares under the management of grandfather Attilio. In the 1970s, his son Marino took over, and later, in the late 1980s, grandsons Orlando and Attilio assumed control. Today, the estate spans approximately 32 hectares, with vineyards in Dogliani and Monforte d'Alba. The Pecchenino family is dedicated to sustainable viticulture and producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Langhe region.
