2022 Pio Cesare Langhe Nebbiolo, Piedmont, Italy
ABOUT THE WINE
Sourced from younger vines and select vineyard sites across Barolo and Barbaresco areas, this Langhe Nebbiolo provides an accessible interpretation of the variety while maintaining its classic character. The 2022 vintage shows clarity and freshness, with flavors of red berries, cranberry, orange peel, and delicate herbal undertones.
Vinified in a traditional style, the wine undergoes controlled fermentation with moderate maceration to extract structure without excessive tannin. It is aged in large oak casks and some neutral barrels, allowing the fruit and aromatics to remain at the forefront while gaining subtle complexity.
Designed for earlier drinking compared to Barolo or Barbaresco, this wine can be enjoyed young but will continue to develop over the next 5–8 years. It pairs well with pasta, roasted meats, mushroom dishes, and semi-aged cheeses.
