2022 Quinta da Pedra "Graça da Pedra" Alvarinho, Vinho Verde, Portugal
ABOUT THIS WINE
“Graça da Pedra” is crafted exclusively from estate-grown Alvarinho grapes, cultivated on the granitic slopes of Melgaço in Portugal’s northernmost sub-region of Vinho Verde. The vines are farmed sustainably, with low yields and careful canopy management to ensure optimal concentration and freshness.
Following harvest at cool temperatures, the grapes undergo gentle whole-cluster pressing. Fermentation with native yeasts takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving the vibrant aromatics while developing a clean mid-palate. The wine spends several months on fine lees, enhancing mouthfeel without sacrificing vivacity.
The resulting wine is beautifully balanced—bright citrus and stone fruit drive the palate, while a pronounced stony minerality and brisk acidity deliver structure and refinement. Serve well-chilled alongside grilled prawns with citrus-herb butter, light fish dishes, or goat cheese and garden-fresh salads.
