2022 Tregole Chianti Classico, Tuscany, Italy

ABOUT THIS WINE

This Chianti Classico is crafted predominantly from Sangiovese grown on hillside vineyards surrounding the hamlet of Tregole, near Castellina in Chianti. The estate’s vineyards, rooted in galestro (friable marl) and limestone soils, produce wines of aromatic lift and precise structure. The 2022 vintage was marked by warm conditions balanced by cool evenings, resulting in ripe fruit with excellent acidity and freshness.

Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts, and macerated gently to extract color and tannin without overpowering the wine’s elegance. Aging takes place in large Slavonian oak casks and partially in smaller French barrels, striking a balance between preserving fruit purity and adding subtle spice and textural polish.

The resulting wine is a classic expression of Chianti Classico—bright, floral, and savory, with red-fruited charm and an undercurrent of stony minerality. It offers immediate appeal but will also evolve gracefully for 6–10 years.
