2023 Benanti Etna Rosso, Sicily, Italy
ABOUT THIS WINE
Made primarily from Nerello Mascalese with a small portion of Nerello Cappuccio, this Etna Rosso is sourced from vineyards at 750–900 meters elevation on volcanic soils rich in ash and minerals. The 2023 vintage was long and moderate, allowing slow, even ripening and excellent aromatic development.
Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, followed by aging in a combination of stainless and used oak to preserve freshness and enhance texture. The result is a wine that blends red fruit clarity with savory earth and subtle spice, offering a clear sense of Etna’s unique terroir.
