2023 Le Roc des Anges Côtes Catalanes Blanc "Llum", Languedoc-Roussillon, France

ABOUT THIS WINE

“Llum” is a blend of predominantly Grenache Gris with smaller portions of Grenache Blanc and Macabeu, sourced from biodynamically farmed, old-vine parcels on schist soils in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The 2023 vintage was marked by moderate temperatures and balanced ripening, yielding wines with clarity, poise, and aromatic lift.

Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in a mix of concrete eggs and old barrels to preserve freshness and texture. The result is a wine with subtle fruit, stony minerality, and a beautifully balanced mouthfeel.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Le Roc des Anges, founded by Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet in 2001, is a benchmark estate in Roussillon known for its elegant, site-driven wines from old vines and schist soils. Farming is biodynamic, and winemaking is low-intervention, aimed at expressing the purity and finesse of this often-overlooked region. “Llum” is a standout among southern French whites—textured, mineral, and full of quiet energy.
