2024 Chêne Bleu Rosé VDP Vaucluse, Rhone Valley, France
ABOUT THE WINE
The 2024 Chêne Bleu Rosé is a testament to precision and altitude-driven viticulture. Grown at nearly 550 meters above sea level on the slopes of Mont Ventoux, this IGP Vaucluse rosé is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and a touch of Cinsault, all organically farmed. The cooler microclimate prolongs ripening, preserving acidity and developing complex aromatics. Hand-harvested fruit undergoes gentle direct pressing and is vinified in stainless steel to highlight purity and tension. Aromas of red currant, crushed rose petals, and thyme open to flavors of citrus zest, pink grapefruit, and wild berries. The palate is lean yet expressive, with bright acidity and a mineral snap that make it an ideal partner to Mediterranean fare—think grilled langoustines, Niçoise salad, or herbed goat cheese.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Chêne Bleu is a pioneering estate nestled in the secluded heights of the Dentelles de Montmirail in southern Rhône, where winemaker Nicole Rolet and her team have redefined what’s possible from an off-the-beaten-path terroir. The domaine is committed to biodynamic and organic farming, with meticulous attention to ecological balance and low-intervention winemaking. Founded on a philosophy of “Extreme Viticulture,” the estate emphasizes small production, sustainability, and uncompromising quality. With its fusion of Burgundian finesse and Rhône character, Chêne Bleu has become a benchmark for high-altitude Rhône wines that challenge traditional appellation boundaries.
