This 2019 Mercurey 1er Cru is composed entirely of Pinot Noir sourced from Domaine du Meix-Foulot’s Premier Cru holdings in Mercurey, one of the most respected communes in the Côte Chalonnaise. The wine opens with aromatic notes of red currant, pomegranate, rose petal, and a subtle forest floor nuance, reflecting both site and vintage. On the palate, it is lithe and focused, with a cool-toned fruit core framed by supple tannins and refreshing acidity.

The vineyard sits on limestone-rich soils with clay topsoil, promoting finesse and depth in the final wine. The domaine practices sustainable farming, with minimal intervention in the cellar. Vinification involves partial whole-cluster fermentation and aging in French oak barrels—mostly neutral—with a gentle touch to preserve purity.
