2018 Domaine A et P de Villaine Rully 1er Cru "Les Margotés", Burgundy, France

It is only since 2011 that Pierre de Benoîst and Aubert de Villaine have been running a small plot of very old vines of the famous 1 st cru Grésigny. Ideally located mid-hill, in the heart of the best Rully finage vintages, the vines here show more than 80 years on the clock. Always in full health, thanks to constant care and a rigorous application of bio-dynamic principles, the vines find in the marly-limestone soils all the elements that will give the wine this subtle balance between a sensual texture and a great mineral finesse.
After a manual harvest, meticulous sorting and delicate pressing, in a whole bunch, the wine is then vinified as naturally as possible and aged in casks and barrels, longer than the other vintages of the Estate.
