MV Mastroberardino “Stilèma” Taurasi Riserva Vintage 6 Pack (2016–2018), Campania, Italy
ABOUT THIS PACK
2016 – A cool, long growing season produced a poised, refined wine with lifted aromatics and firm structure. Notes of sour cherry, tobacco, dried herbs, and iron-laced minerality. Tense and built to age.
2017 – A warmer, drier year yielded darker fruit and a touch more generosity without sacrificing balance. Expect black cherry, incense, rose, and leather with savory depth and polished tannins.
2018 – A fresh, balanced vintage that combines floral lift with midweight elegance. Red berry, dried violet, sweet spice, and volcanic soil notes emerge on a linear, vibrant frame.
All wines are sourced from high-elevation vineyards in Montemarano and Mirabella Eclano, fermented in stainless steel, and aged for 30 months in large Slavonian and older French oak barrels, followed by extended bottle aging. They are released only when the estate feels the wines show the hallmarks of classical Taurasi—purity, structure, and longevity.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Mastroberardino is a historic guardian of Campania’s native grape varieties and volcanic terroir, with a winemaking legacy spanning over 10 generations. Based in Irpinia, the family played a pivotal role in the preservation and resurgence of Aglianico and Taurasi, earning a reputation for producing some of Southern Italy’s most age-worthy wines.
The Stilèma project, led by Piero Mastroberardino, represents a philosophical and stylistic return to the restrained, long-lived Taurasi wines of the past. This vintage pack is a rare opportunity to experience the evolution of that vision across three exceptional and contrasting growing seasons.
