NV Champagne Mandois "Origine" Brut , Champagne, France
ABOUT THE WINE
Mandois Brut Origine is a classic blend dominated by Chardonnay, supported by Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, sourced primarily from Premier Cru vineyards around Pierry and the Côte des Blancs. The wine is vinified partially in oak casks to add depth and structure, then aged for a minimum of three years on lees, enriching its profile with subtle autolytic notes of pastry and almond. Farming follows sustainable practices, with a focus on preserving soil vitality and vine balance. The wine’s vibrant acidity and mineral edge are hallmarks of the chalky terroir, while its elegant fruit character makes it a versatile companion to oysters, tempura, or triple cream cheeses.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
The Mandois family has cultivated vines in Champagne since 1735, with the modern estate based in Pierry, just south of Épernay. Now under the stewardship of Claude Mandois, the house maintains 35 hectares of vineyards, many of which are Premier Cru, and practices sustainable viticulture with minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar. Mandois is known for its preference for barrel fermentation in select cuvées and extended lees aging, which lends their Champagnes a signature roundness and depth. With a strong commitment to tradition and terroir expression, Champagne Mandois offers refined wines that are both rooted in history and expressive of contemporary craftsmanship.
