NV Domaine Petit & Bajan Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Brut, Champagne, France

ABOUT THE WINE
This Blanc de Blancs is sourced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards in Avize and Oger, at the heart of the Côte des Blancs—two villages celebrated for their deep chalk soils and refined expressions of Chardonnay. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay, the cuvée blends multiple vintages to achieve a signature balance of freshness and maturity. The base wine undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel before extended lees aging—typically around 36 months—in bottle. The dosage is kept low (around 5 g/L), emphasizing purity and terroir over richness. Expect layered flavors of citrus, pear, and almond cream, framed by a fine, persistent mousse. This is a Champagne of clarity and structure, ideal as an aperitif or alongside oysters, sashimi, or delicate shellfish.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Domaine Petit & Bajan is a small, family-run grower Champagne estate founded by Richard and Véronique Petit in Avize. With vineyards across Grand Cru villages in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, the domaine champions precision, terroir transparency, and sustainable viticulture. Richard Petit, who long supplied grapes to major houses, established the domaine to bottle Champagne under his own name, bringing a winemaker’s sensitivity and grower’s intimacy with the vines. The wines are made in micro-cuvées, with careful blending, long lees aging, and minimal intervention. Known for their tension and mineral purity, Petit & Bajan’s Champagnes—especially the Blanc de Blancs—reflect a philosophy of elegance anchored firmly in the chalk and light of the Côte des Blancs.
