NV Patrick Bottex Bugey Cerdon "La Cueille", Savoie, France

ABOUT THIS WINE

Made in the Bugey Cerdon AOC, La Cueille is a traditional blend of Gamay and Poulsard grown on steep, limestone-rich slopes in the village of La Cueille. Fermentation begins naturally in chilled tanks and is bottled before completion to trap natural sugars and bubbles—a process known as méthode ancestrale. The wine finishes fermentation in bottle, resulting in a lightly sparkling, low-alcohol rosé with just a hint of sweetness (typically around 8% ABV).

Aromatically expressive and vibrant, it delivers flavors of red berries, hibiscus, and mountain herbs. The fine bubbles and balanced sweetness make it perfect for aperitifs, brunches, desserts, or spicy fare.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Patrick Bottex has been producing Bugey Cerdon in the tiny hamlet of La Cueille since the early 1980s, and is widely credited with helping to revive this traditional, alpine sparkling style. Farming sustainably and working by hand in both vineyard and cellar, Bottex crafts wines that are pure, joyful, and true to place. La Cueille has become the benchmark for Bugey Cerdon—light, effervescent, and irresistibly fun.
