2024 Domaine Tempier Bandol Rose, Provence, France
ABOUT THE WINE
Composed primarily of Mourvèdre, with Grenache and Cinsault completing the blend. The 2024 Tempier Bandol Rosé is drawn from organically farmed, old-vine parcels rooted in limestone soils near the Mediterranean. The wine is made with the saignée method and direct press, fermented with native yeasts, and aged briefly on fine lees for texture and complexity. The result is a rosé of remarkable depth and longevity—vibrant in youth, yet capable of evolving beautifully for 5–10 years. Expect notes of citrus zest, ripe melon, anise, and sea spray, framed by a lightly tannic structure that pairs beautifully with Provençal fare, grilled seafood, roasted chicken, or Niçoise salad.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Domaine Tempier, located in the heart of Bandol and family-run since 1834, is synonymous with the region’s finest wines. Lulu and Lucien Peyraud were instrumental in shaping Bandol’s AOC and in championing Mourvèdre as its defining grape. Their legacy continues today under the guidance of the Peyraud family and winemaker Daniel Ravier, with a steadfast commitment to organic farming, minimal intervention, and expressive, terroir-driven wines. While best known for their powerful reds, Tempier’s rosé has become a global reference point—an icon that redefines what rosé can be: serious, age-worthy, and profoundly satisfying.
