2024 Chai de la Dive Saumur Rosé, Loire Valley, France
ABOUT THIS WINE
Sourced from organically cultivated vineyards in Berrie, Puy-Notre-Dame, and Montreuil-Bellay, the fruit for this rosé is grown on a mosaic of limestone-rich soils with clay, sand, and silt influences. Vines range in age from 10 to 35 years. Grapes are whole-cluster pressed and gently settled for 24 hours before a slow fermentation using native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation, preserving its natural acidity and freshness. After six months on fine lees in stainless steel, it is bottled with minimal sulfur.
Bright and expressive, this rosé showcases purity and precision, with red berry fruit, subtle herbal undertones, and a stony, refreshing finish. It pairs beautifully with seafood, light charcuterie, goat cheese, and garden-fresh dishes.
